Meet Wayne.
Wayne’s passion for building began in high school, where he dedicated his junior and senior year electives to woodworking.
“My first projects were gifts for my mom—a wooden recipe card box with a matching wooden tissue box cover. She loved them!”
After graduating, Wayne began working for a local contractor, gaining hands-on experience in demolition and remodeling before advancing to new home construction. As his skills grew, so did his ambition.
At 23, Wayne married his best friend, Chris, and as they started their family, he looked for opportunities to expand his expertise. He soon landed an internship at Tri-Star Cabinets, where he mastered the art of producing high-end custom cabinetry.
Wayne Palmquist
In 1998, he took on a major challenge: building a custom home for his growing family in Jackson, Wyoming. With a meticulous approach and a desire for excellence, Wayne and his son, Aspen, built the house from the ground up—foundation, water lines, electrical, roofing, tile, granite countertops, barn wood flooring, trim, and of course, custom cabinetry. “The Jackson House was a BIG project, but I was motivated by the thought of living in something uniquely beautiful.”
After completing the home, Wayne launched his own cabinet shop in Jackson Hole, using his home as a showroom to showcase his craftsmanship. Over the next decade, he produced countless unique custom pieces, earning a reputation for quality and precision.
Inevitably, the “winds of change blew”, redirecting Wayne and his family to Illinois, where he specialized in installing complex crown molding.
One of his career highlights was the opportunity to design and build the front desk and kiosk for the Creation Museum in Kentucky, a project for Answers in Genesis.
Longing to return west, Wayne moved to Idaho in 2007, founding Masters Touch Construction, LLC. Building a business from the ground up in a new community wasn’t easy, but over time, he established a loyal clientele who appreciate his attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
In 2018, Aspen invited Wayne to Maui to help expand his business, marking the next chapter of their father-son collaboration. Together, they continued building dreams and creating beautiful home remodels.
The Meaning Behind the Name
“I named Masters Touch Construction after the Jewish carpenter, Jesus Christ. He is my Master, and I am His apprentice.”

By keeping most of our trades in-house, we can offer competitive prices without compromising quality.
